SMA Mutu Yogyakarta Becomes The Overall Champion In the DIY Athletics Championship

YOGYA - SMA Muhammadiyah 7 Yogyakarta won the overall championship, in the Muhammadiyah Yogyakarta Special Region Senior High School Athletics Competition. In the competition already held on August 24-25, 2024 at the Mandala Krida Field, SMA Muhammadiyah 7  students won the short-distance running, middle-distance running, and relay race.

This achievement proves that SMA Muhammadiyah 7 Yogyakarta is serious about coaching its students. As it is known, SMA Muhammadiyah 7 is the only one with a special sports class within the special region of Muhammadiyah in Yogyakarta. This school can develop the sports talents of their students, not only through soccer but also through athletics.

In this Athletics championship, SMA Muhammadiyah 7 has won 4 championships, including :
1. 1st place in 800m run, on behalf of Yudistira Putra H grade 10
2. 3rd place in 800m runs on behalf of Dhani Muhammad Fahmi grade 10
3. 2nd place in the 100m run, on behalf of Husnudzon Rio Fatmansyah
4. 1st place in the 4 x 400 m relay race on behalf of :
- Fiorentino Oktaviandra
- Muhammad Segi Meiyanto
- R. BG Gading Arta Pratama
- Gifari Azhar

In this championship as the overall champion, SMA Muhammadiyah 7 received IDR 1.500.000,00 as their coaching money delivered by the Chairman of the LPO of the Muhammadiyah Central Leadership.

Sri Rohadi and Sri Haryati, the sports teachers, worked very well. They recognized and developed the talents of their students in athletics. 

Both of them hope, that in the future athletic sports can be developed and become part of the superior sports at SMA Muhammadiyah 7 Yogyakarta.
